Shepherding God's people with love, wisdom, and grace
— Reverend Dr. Blanton L. Banks I
Senior Pastor • Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Since 1954, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has stood as a pillar of faith on Detroit's northwest side. What began as a small gathering of believers, have exhibited with continued faith in God, we are united by one purpose — Kingdom Building and sharing the love of Christ.
For over six decades, we've been a place of worship, for families, friendship to grow, and life being transformed by the power of God's Word.
Scripture is God's inspired, living Word — the foundation for all we teach and believe.
Baptism and the Lord's Supper are precious gifts — visible signs of His invisible grace.
Saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by works, but by God's mercy.
Love God with all our hearts and love our neighbors — in Detroit and beyond.
